Housing Advice Surgery with Shelter

Southall Black Sisters are working with Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, to provide an outreach housing advice surgery. The service free and specifically for women, aged over 25, who reside in Ealing.

You will be assisted by a specialist housing advisor, who can:

  • check your legal rights regarding housing and homelessness
  • guide you through legal procedures
  • help you to negotiate or take further action.

The sessions are held fortnightly at SBS, every Tuesday afternoon from 12pm onwards and individuals are given a 40 minute session. We have capacity to see 4 individuals on each occasion.

If you are from an agency and referring a client, please indicate whether you will be able to attend the appointment with your client. You do not need to be a client at SBS to access this advice surgery.

The Shelter surgeries are on Tuesday’s fortnightly 12.00pm-5.00pm.

The Housing Advice Surgery dates are:

10th & 24th January 2017
7th & 21st February 2017
7th & 21st March 2017
4th & 18th April 2017
2nd & 16th May 2017

By appointment only, an advisor will call you back to confirm the details of the appointment.

How to get to Southall Black Sisters

Our main office is at 21 Avenue Road, Southall, Middlesex UB1 3BL

Buses: 207, 427, 607, 195, 105, 120, 482, E5, H32, 95. If you get off on Uxbridge Road near Lidl or Southall Police Station, walk towards the Broadway, Avenue Road is on the left just before the Fire Station. Turn into Avenue Road and we are half way down the street at no 21.

Rail: British Rail to Southall Broadway. When you get out of the station, turn right and walk to the traffic lights. Then turn right into Park Ave Road, after 5 mins you will see Avenue Road on your left, we are about half way down.

Underground: Closest underground is Ealing Broadway (Central Line/District line), when you exit the station take a left and walk to Uxbridge Road and catch  207, 427, 607 bus going towards Hayes or Uxbridge.

Hounslow Central (Piccadilly line), exit the station and take the 120 bus towards Northolt, get off on South Road, just after you pass Park Avenue at the traffic lights. Then walk down Park Ave Road, after 5 mins you will see Avenue Road on your left, we are about half way down.
